Chloe Aligianni is a choreographer, facilitator and multidisciplinary artist. Her practice is a vehicle of exploring the world around and within and she is interested in asking unanswerable questions, hence looks to converse with disciplines which attempt to respond to these such as science, religion, technology and the arts. This has evolved into ongoing collaborations with scientists and artists alike and an ideas based approach to choreography, allowing space for mediums and performance formats to shift. With a background in both fine art and dance, she is a Chisenhale Dance Space Artist Member and FreeSpace artist at Studio Wayne McGregor. Her work has been presented and supported by organizations such as Arts Council England, The Place, King's Place, Athens Video Dance Project, Vault Festival, University of Leicester, Arion International Guitar Festival among others. Alongside her own work she movement directs visual art and theatre projects and is currently part of the University of Leicester's Maths Meets Arts team led by mathematician Dr.Katrin Leschke looking at intersections of maths and arts in education and art practice. She has taught contemporary dance for the Royal Academy of Dance’s Step Into Dance Programme, Central Foundation Girl’s School and led classes and workshops for adults and professionals at Chisenhale Dance Space, Studio Wayne McGregor, Sussex Dance et al. Chloe was Part of Gary Clarke's (DV8) first London LUSTRUM project at Greenwich Dance Agency and recently selected by David Zambrano to train in Flying Low & Passing Through through the Integro Training Programme (Thailand). She holds a Master's in Choreography from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music & Dance.
